Why Jesus Came For Everyone

Why Jesus Came For Everyone

Jesus said in Matthew 15 that He came only for the lost house of the sheep of Israel so why do people think he died for the sins of the whole world? What is the scriptural basis for this?

Old Testament

Isaiah 65

I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ To a nation that was not called by My name.

Isaiah 49

This passage talks about being

a light to the Gentiles

my Salvation to the ends of the earth

And now the Lord says, Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, To bring Jacob back to Him, So that Israel is [d]gathered to Him (For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, And My God shall be My strength), Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”

Isaiah 42

I will bring forth justice to the Gentiles

He will not fail till he has brought justice to the earth

I will keep you and give you as a covenant to the people and as a light to the Gentiles to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison

Sing unto the Lord a new song and His praise from the ends of the earth

I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.

He will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law.”

“I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, 7 To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison,

Jesus is the true light who gives light to every man coming into the world

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That[b] was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

It's not about blood - those who are born of God will have the right to become children of God

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Jesus is the Lamb Of God who takes away the sin of the world

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
